Testimonials

B. Philp

Engineered Automotive has been doing the maintenance and tuning work on my cars for nearly a decade and the reason is pretty simple: As a lifelong car guy, I have never encountered their combination of real passion for cars and an obsessive dedication to doing every job exactly the right way. After every visit, I feel like I’ve been talking to people who ‘get’ me and what I expect from a car, like only a fellow enthusiast can. I have absolute confidence in my car when they hand me back the keys. For someone who used to check tire pressures and bolt tightness before I would even drive off a mechanic’s lot, like I once did, that’s no small thing. We’re customers for life.

J. G. Temesvary

After being introduced by a mutual friend, I approached Billy Smilovsky in 2007 to discuss a total restoration of my 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL which had been left unused in an underground garage for about ten years.  The car was quite deteriorated and rusted and the restoration would include: rebuilding the engine and transmission, the braking system (as well as all other drive train components) and the engine cooling and air conditioning systems; changing the exterior colour; and correcting numerous other deficiencies (both visual and mechanical).  EA performed the restoration excellently, in terms of quality and also on time and within budget.  The paint job was flawless (with the only way of telling that the colour was changed being by reference to the serial number) and the car is virtually like new and a pleasure to drive and, to date, it has been completely reliable.  EA also maintains other vehicles for me and again, the service provided has been excellent and thorough.  I highly recommend EA to everyone.

B. Menchions

Dear Billy and the rest of the crew at Engineered Automotive:

I am excited to learn of the new website launch. It will be only the latest step in your ongoing business growth and maturity. As you know, I have been a customer of yours for almost twenty-five years. In that time, you have extensively modified several new vehicles into very high-performing and unique custom cars and trucks for me. The appraised value of each of them after conversion has reflected the time, planning, skill, and execution which marks your work. You have been able to understand well what I was going for in each project, and together we have brought many unique ideas into each one. I have not wanted to sell any of these vehicles, but the one I did part with brought tens of thousands of dollars over the black book value at the time because of the quality of the work you did.

“Interior, sound systems, exterior modification and painting have all been done to a very high standard (yours). You have done work on Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, and a variety of North American vehicles for me. While in and around your shop over the years, I have witnessed all manner of complete frame-off restorations, complete redesigns, massive upgrades, and customizations you have performed for others. The quality is always first rate.”

You have provided other services for me as well, from ongoing preventative maintenance to repair on all my vehicles. I have preferred to have you deal with warranty work with dealers for me at times, for either convenience or technical reasons. You have helped me to acquire vehicles (some from outside Canada) and done much research about possible modifications using ideas and parts from around the world. I have had complete peace of mind in storage of vehicles as well.

“I have always looked forward to every one of the hundreds of visits I have made to your shop; your newest and largest facility has been designed with customer comfort in mind, and the attention to detail shows as soon as one enters the building.”

“I wish you every success. I unhesitatingly recommend you to anyone (and have). I would be more than happy to talk about my experiences with you and your staff with any prospective customers as well.”

Yours truly,

B. Menchions MD FRCPC

If in your soul a car is more then a means of transportation between point A and point B then you owe it to yourself to look more closely at EA. In our recent search for a Mercedes C63 my wife and I stumbled upon EA. One quick email, an immediate response and Lynn and I were on our way to Toronto on a Saturday morning. An hour later, upon our arrival we entered what I can only say is a car person’s paradise. We were greeted in the most relaxed enthusiastic manner. These people love cars and their knowledge and passion for automobiles is just amazing!

For me to drive a great car is an event and just walking through the doors at EA is worth an hours drive. When I finally got around to seeing our car (so many other amazing cars to look at) I was presented with the most meticulously detailed automobile I had ever seen. I couldn’t believe it had 7,000 kilometers on the odometer. It was obvious that the people at EA were passionate about automobiles. Lynn took one look and the car was ours. The price was great and the process was not only painless but fun!

I have returned several times since that day and I have been greeted like family.

Their service is second to none and they are genuinely happy that Lynn and I love our C63. If you love cars and you want the drive to the corner store to be an event, do yourself a favour and check out Engineered Automotive. Next Lynnie and I have to get the folks at EA to teach us to really drive the beast … they do that as well … track days!

Engineered Automotive has provided excellent service for many of my vehicles.  From the street car pick-up/drop-off service to track side assistance on set-up, EA not only has the right facilities, but also the right people for the job.  I trust them all the way for anything with a motor and four wheels.

B. McIntosh

My EA experience has been nothing short of total satisfaction.  Whether it is routine maintenance, or specialized work, the job has always been completed as promised, and my car returned to me looking better than ever.

When it was time to sell a vehicle last fall, the EA team took the car in and found a buyer within a week.  As pleased as I was with the selling process, I’m sure the purchaser was equally satisfied and is now a member of the EA family as well.

Another positive for me is the fact that I can recommend EA to my friends and know that I’ll be getting a phone call saying how impressed they were with how they were treated by the folks at EA.

Whether it is gathering on a Sunday morning to watch an F1 race, attending a Track Day, or having worked performed on one of my cars, the EA experience is truly terrific!
